Chanderkhani is one of the most serene and tranquil passes, located at an altitude of 12000 feet in the Himalayas of Kullu Valley. The trail takes you through the forests of blue pine, deodar, walnut, golden oak and wild cherry. The trek treats you with majestic views of Deo Tibba Peak, Pir Panjal and Parbati ranges of the Himalayan Mountains. It’s the perfect trek for beginners! The easy trails lead you to remote villages and unique cultures of Himachal Pradesh!
Your trek will start from Rumsu located in the heritage village of Naggar, giving you an exciting experience of exploring the remote valleys of Kullu. To reach the dreamlike Chanderkhani Pass Base Camp which is also called Nauya Tapru, you have to pass through the beautiful forests and an enchanting snow land! Chanderkhani Base Camp acts as a starting point for those who ascend higher to the pass. This trek is all about scenic beauty, dense forests, colourful foliage and diversified landscape.

 

Short Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Reporting at Nagar Hotel
  • Day 02: Trek/Cab to Rumsu and Trek to Nayatapru
  • Day 03:Trek to Chanderkhani Pass (3600 metres – 7 -8 hours )
  • Day 04: Descend to Rumsu and back Nagar and Checkout

 

*NOTE: If clients want to have lunch after returning from the trek on day 4, then can be provided at cost of 100/-

 

If clients want to take rest, till their bus timings, the room can be allotted if vacant, or tents will be pinched here at the lawn, so they can take rest.

 

How to Reach

By Road: Patlikhul is well connected to Delhi. Take an overnight bus from Delhi to Manali and you will reach Patlikhul in 12 ‐ 14 hours (approx. 540 KMS). Tickets can be booked online at www.redbus.in or www.hrtc.gov.in

Tip: Since Delhi, Manali is a long journey most Volvo private buses leave Delhi between 5 pm and 6 pm. The last govt bus leaves at 8.30 pm from ISBT Kashmere Gate. Volvo buses charges between Rs. 1,000 to 1,400 per sector from Delhi to Manali and vice versa. Manali to Delhi: Like the onward journey, buses leave from Manali to Delhi between 4 and 5 p.m. Your tentative arrival at Delhi may be anywhere between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. Plan your onward journeys only post noon giving enough buffer for bus delays.

 

By Train: The nearest Railway station is Ambala (350 km) and Chandigarh (310 km). Tip: Regular Volvo and Buses are available from Chandigarh to Manali in the evening. Volvo buses charges between Rs.700 to Rs. 1,000 per sector from Chandigarh to Manali and vice versa

 

By Air: Nearest Airport is Bhuntar is 60 Kms. Bhuntar, which is 52 km away from Manali, is the nearest airport. Taxi services are available from Bhuntar to Manali, which costs about Rs.700‐ Rs. 1,000. Bhuntar is well connected to Delhi by air. The airliners that take you to this Airport are Indian Airlines, Kingfisher airlines, MDLR Airlines and Jagson Airlines, operating flights from Delhi and Chandigarh to Kullu.

Cancellation Policy:

Note: Normally we expect to carry your personal luggage on your own if you don’t want to carry your backpack so you can give it to porter/Mules, but you have to inform us in advance and have to pay Rs.800/- extra per day per bag.

To book a Trek/ adventure program please use our online booking form or, alternatively, you can call us on the given for confirmation of tour you have to wire a deposit and initial deposit.

Paying the Trek/ Adventure activity fee:

The fee can be paid by online transfer/check deposit/ demand draft. Instruction for payment will be forwarded along with your confirmation email.
When your transfer is done, please e-mail us a confirmation mail with your transfer details, so that we can follow up your reservation efficiently.

When to book:

It is wise to make your booking at least two months in advance. However, if you want a good deal on your domestic/international flight, we recommend organizing your trip at least five months in advance. (Please contact us if you require a late booking)

In the event of cancellation of trek/adventure activity services due to any avoidable/unavoidable reasons, we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows: –

 

Cancellation charges: – 

  • 30 days or more before departure – No Charge
  • 15-29 days before departure – 25% of total
  • 7-14 days before departure – 50% of total
  • Less than 7 days before departure – No Refund

 

The Company reserves the right to:

  • Take the booking for the group tour and individual tour.
  • Cancel bookings even after the acceptance of the payment without assigning any reason. In this case, the company shall refund the money to the guest.
  • Dismiss any guest from the tour for misbehaviour especially if it affects the group and Physical or verbal assault to the Tour Manager.
  • Withdraw discounts at any point of time.
  • Change the routing of Air Travel.
  • Change hotel and/tour programmed due to unavoidable circumstances.

Refund Policy:

  • Refunds if any, for variation/modification/amendments/alteration and/or cancellations etc. of any tour will be paid directly to the guest by ‘A/C payee’ cheque, in Indian Rupees at the prevailing rate of exchange on the date of the cheque, as per Reserve Bank of India Rules and Regulations, irrespective of whether the tour payments in part or whole were made in foreign currency.
  • Refund payments will be processed within 15 days of cancellation date and the amount is payable as per cancellation policy.

 

No refund will be payable: –

  • For any missed/unused services of the tour including the meals due to whatsoever reason.
  • Where full deposit is required to be paid in advance to the concerned authorities to enable the Company to confirm the reservation
  • If services of the tour are modified, varied, amended, cancelled or not utilized.
  • If any guest decides and/or is required to cancel the tour due to any changes made in the rules by the concerned Government.
  • Where airfares are contracted in bulk for I-Fly departures.
  • If the tour is indefinitely postponed due to a natural calamity, riots, political calamities or any other unforeseen calamities.
  • Refund is not applicable for sectors on Indian/World tours wherein air tickets are non-refundable and date change is not allowed.

For all Card payments – Payment received by Cards and if there is any refund, such refund will be done through the respective cards Financial Institutions and credited to the same card. The charges for transaction to be borne by the guests.

Day 02: Trek/Cab to Rumsu and Trek to Nayatapru

After Breakfast, take your packaed Lunch and we will take a cab if road is clear or we will trek to Rumsu. Then we will start your trek to the verdant sterling forest covered with snow. Delightfully situated on a wooded slope and commanding an extensive view of the valley, it is famous for its temples, ancient castle, and the Roerich Art Gallery. From Naggar, it’s a gradual climb up to Rumsu. It’s a steady and gradual climb on the second day to just below the Chanderkhani Pass at Nauya Tapru.
The trail has dwarf rhododendron shrubs and bhojpatra trees and a walk through the beautiful forests of pine, fir, oak and chestnut trees. Climb up the jungle to reach the Base Camp Naya Tapru. Freshen up and admire the lush green grassland covered with snow! Spend some time acclimatizing!

After a scrumptious breakfast, start your trek to Chanderkhani Pass in the morning. On the top of Chanderkhani Pass (3600m) one can have a striking view of Deo Tibba. Your whole trekking journey provides stunning sights of snow-clad mountains and charming open valleys. Admire the splendid views of the snow-clad mountains while you walk on the snowy trail. Enjoy the moment when you reach your destination. Start descending and return at Nauya Tapru. Enjoy your dinner and overnight camping.

Post breakfast, we start our descent following the same route. We take about 4 hours to reach Rumsu, from there take the vehicle and return back to Naggar Hotel.
